(SOLD) Mars Rover

(THIS INSTRUMENT HAS SOLD) This is a 6 string electric guitar, with chambered body, carved top and back, with a very unique combination of woods. It features an Ambrosia Maple drop top, which was harvested locally (on Manitoulin Island) that has it's worm hole voids filled with a mixture of turqoise, Great Lakes muscle shell, copper bits and Ebony dust. This thing must be seen to be fully appreciated, and is truly one of a kind in every way.

The back is made from Ontario Black Cherry, and is 2" high at the highest point of the back, while the sides remain 1 1/4" around the edge. The interior has been hollowed out to reduce weight, and as a result, this guitar has a more "acoustic" presence than a typical electric. The neck is made of (manitoulin) Rock Maple laminated to Black Walnut. The headstock veneers are made of lightning struck apple, along with the tailpiece. The volume and tone are incorporated into the tailpiece, which also doubles as the control cavity cover. The pickup is a humbucker sized single coil gold foil from Schuyler Dean out of Nashville, and kicks serious ass for that replica gold foil sound. I chose a humbucker slot to allow more flexibility for swapping out pickups if you ever chose to. The machine heads are Gotoh Stealth's, which feature an 18:1 worm gear, allowing for finer tuning. Bone nut, Schaller Tune-o-matic bridge, dual action hot rod truss rod. Gold foils have that wonderful breakup when you dig in, and this thing does just that. It's a very dynamic pickup, and responds well to all kinds of playing.

This is a one of a kind instrument, and has been a display item of mine for the last 6 months. It helped me get a few commissioned instruments, so it's served it's purpose. It is very, very lightly played, therefor, I am selling in Like New condition.
