The Louis Papillion Memorial Double 0

It’s hard to talk about the passing of someone you loved without it getting overly emotional, so I’ll keep it brief. He was the other Louis in my life, giving me & my cousins shit when we were being complete morons, talking shop with me whenever we saw each other as I got into loothing, and felt like my brother more than my Uncle. When he passed, I couldn’t help but think of this little blues guitar we’d dreamt up together, and felt like building it as a living memorial to Lou. “Une p’tit guitar d’blues Matt” is what he’d end with, and I'd hear him say it whenever I was working on it. His son Dan is passing the torch, keeping the music alive.

25+ year Air dried Black Walnut back & sides, solid lined structured sides, Lutz Spruce top, Gibson reject ebony fingerboard, RW pyramid bridge, MOP dot inlay, 23.75" scale, waterbased lacquer sunburst. This guitar is a cross between a Martin 00 or a Gibson LG-00, because we couldn't really ever decide which of the two was a better parlor guitar.
